Multiple sets of CSS files can be attached to any given site to make it possible to deliver an easy site re-branding by a simple theme switch.
This also means that you can easily copy a theme and work on it to create e.g. site re-branding, Christmas or an event specific theme and apply it to your site when the time comes, without the hassle of chasing images all over your media library.
